Talks by Jenni Trethowan ‘The Baboon Lady’
As part of the Trust’s education and outreach, Jenni Trethowan offers a range of powerful, thought provoking presentations.
PRIMARY SCHOOL GROUPS
For the younger school groups, Jenni focuses her talks on baboon behaviour, giving the learners an opportunity to learn more about their hairy relations through the engaging Mikey Mohican presentations.
HIGH SCHOOL GROUPS
High school learners are given more challenging topics that are aimed at provoking debate on baboon related issues – for example “Where can dispersing male baboons go?” The high school pupils are encouraged to ask the hard questions that lead to deeper levels of understanding and often Jenni’s talks to high schools end with debate around the complex issues of baboon management on the Cape peninsula.
SPECIAL INTEREST
For special interest groups such as the University of the Third Age, Rotary Groups or Probus groups the talks are more wide ranging offering emotive insights into Jenni’s long history with baboons on the peninsula. The talks evoke tears and laughter and certainly captivate the audiences.

FEEDBACK & REVIEWS
Many thanks for your inspiring talk on Tuesday morning. It was so fitting to have local input alongside Jane Goodall’s address. I trust that you had enough time to talk to Jane. She certainly enjoyed meeting you…

Thank you very much for giving such an excellent presentation to my class. The students provided very positive feedback and they said how much they enjoyed it. I hope I can convince you to do something similar in the future. Julian Saunders – International School, Cape Town

Just a brief note to thank you for your beautiful book and for giving the Owl Club a most thought provoking talk…Most people are intimidated by a room full of Professors, Doctors, Judges and even one Count! (Luccio Labia) But when you get to know them they’re really just ordinary people. Well done! Mike Lundy, Owl Club
