BABOON MATTERS TRUST | TRUSTEES
Simon Jamieson | Chairman
After gaining a degree in Aeronautics and working in Engineering for several years Simon has spent the last 25 years working in UK financial services where he has successfully run his own businesses advising individuals and companies how to best handle their financial assets. Simon opted for a change of lifestyle 5 years ago and moved to Cape Town to avail himself of a more ‘outdoor’ life and has become very fond of time spent on the mountains and particularly interested in preserving it – especially the natural baboon troops.
Jenni Trethowan | Founder
Jenni has worked for baboons for over twenty years, first through the Kommetjie Environmental Awareness Group where with Wally Petersen she started the baboon monitor programme, and then as a founding member of Baboon Matters, who were tasked with managing the monitor programme and working with communities who lived on the urban edge and came into regular contact with baboons. In recent years, Jenni has become more actively involved in baboon conservation around South Africa.
Wynter Worsthorne | Secretary
Wynter started consciously working with interspecies communication in 2002. Through various mentors and the animals themselves, she developed her natural ability to communicate with animals. She is intimately involved with Baboon Matters, and has had much practical experience working with these interesting animals who live so closely alongside humans often in situations fraught with conflict, because of the misunderstanding between the species. http://www.animaltalkafrica.co.za
